Join us for Syracuse Earth Week 2025, a week-long celebration of permaculture, food justice, and environmental restoration! Organized in partnership with TEAL, Brady Farm, FAHN, Take Back the Streets, and the Syracuse Parks Department, this initiative is dedicated to reconnecting the Southwest community with its natural environment.

Earth Day Park Beautification

On Earth Day, we will be revitalizing Elliot Park and Slocum Park through litter cleanup and tree mulching to support the health of these local green spaces. This program provides youth participants with a hands-on opportunity to engage in environmental stewardship in a structured setting.

Creekwalk Clean-Up

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a day of environmental action at Onondaga Creek! We'll be removing litter and invasive plant species to support local biodiversity and foster healthier ecosystems that benefit our community gardens. By restoring native habitats, we can enhance the abundance and vitality of these green spaces. Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome—come help us nurture nature and beautify our community!

Kwanzaa Garden
Spring Refresh

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Week with us at Kwanza Gardens as we refresh our community garden! Take part in hands-on activities such as spreading mulch and remediating soil, while engaging with educational programming focused on permaculture and food forests. This is a great opportunity to learn sustainable gardening practices, connect with others, and help build a healthier, greener community.

Westside Earth Week & Arbor Day: Tree Planting & Park Clean-Up Event

2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us on Friday, April 25th for a special Westside Earth Week and Arbor Day event, where we’ll come together to enhance our urban green spaces and celebrate the importance of trees!        
                                                                                                   

This dual event will take place from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM, with two activities happening simultaneously just a few blocks apart:

Group Planting a Tree

Tree Planting & Giveaway at Elliot Park
Honor Arbor Day by helping expand our urban tree canopy! Volunteers will plant trees, and community members will have the opportunity to take home a tree to plant in their own yards.

Rowland Ave Pocket Park Clean-Up
As part of Earth Week, we’ll work together to revitalize this neighborhood greenspace by cleaning up litter and planting flowers in planter boxes to beautify the area.
