Westside EcoFarm
Building Food Security & Community Resilience in Syracuse’s Westside
The Near Westside neighborhood of Syracuse, NY, faces high poverty rates and limited access to healthy food. To address food insecurity and strengthen community resilience, TEAL is developing an Urban Farm and Environmental Education Center that will provide fresh food, gardening resources, hands-on workshops, community events, and youth programs.
The completed Eco-Farm will feature food forests, garden beds, a greenhouse, beehives, a wildlife pond, and livestock, including rabbits and chickens. An indoor facility will serve as a hub for education and community gatherings.

Our mission is to reconnect residents with nature and equip them with the knowledge and resources needed to build a neighborhood that is equitable, sustainable, and food sovereign.
